To ensure that your visit to Perth and the experience of the conference is as enjoyable as possible, here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions which will hopefully provide you with all the information you need.
We encourage you to read through this before you attend. Please contact us if you have a question that we haven’t answered.

Dress Code

The AMMA Conference is a civilian event and therefore military wear is not compulsory. However, if you are sponsored by Defence you should check with your superior officer as to what you are required to wear.

Conference Venue

2023 AMMA Conference will be held at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre
21 Mounts Bay Road, Perth, Western Australia

Travel time between the Perth Airport and the Conference Venue is approximately 20 minutes by car and approximately 1 hour by public transport.

Transferring between the airport terminals:

There are two terminal precincts at Perth Airport that are separated by a short 15-minute drive : the T1/T2 precinct and the T3/T4 precinct. If you need to transfer between T1/T2 and T3/T4, taxi and rideshare services are available on the respective terminal forecourts.

Depart from T1/T2 Terminal with various stops 

Bus Route 37 operates between Airport Central and Oats Street Station via Belmont Forum 7 days a week.

Disembark at Belmont Forum and transfer on other bus route.

Airport Line from T1/T2

The Airport Line is only a short 4-minute walk from the terminal. Take the Claremont Stn Line and transfer at City West Station for another bus route.

Depart from T3/T4 Terminal with various stops 

Bus Route 940 at Fauntleroy Av after Dunreath Dr, which is an 8-minute walk from T3/T4. Disembark at Elizabeth Quay. The conference venue is only 5-minute walk from the station.

Airport Line from T3/T4

A 14-minute walk to the Redcliffe Station and take the Airport Line Perth Stn . Transfer at Perth Station for another bus/train route.

Rideshare

DiDiOla and Uber ridesharing services are available at Perth Airport. Please click here for further information, including the location of the rideshare pick-up bay. 

Taxis

The main taxi service providers in Perth are Black & White Cabs and Swan Taxis.

The City of Perth owns and operates the Convention Centre Car Park at the PCEC through its business unit City of Perth Parking (CPP). The carpark is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week except for maintenance and servicing. Fully trained customer service staff are in attendance.

During the conference

The registration desk will be at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre , BelleVue Foyer 1 Foyer, Level 3 . Please direct any questions you may have regarding registration, session attendance or other elements of the conference to Leishman Associates staff at this desk.

The Welcome Reception is being held in BelleVue Ballroom 2, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 1705 - 1835 on Friday 13 October.

The Pre-Dinner Drinks is being held in Meeting Room 1, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 1830 - 1900 on Saturday 14 October.

The Conference Dinner is being held in BelleVue Ballroom 1, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 1900 - 2330 on Saturday 14 October.

The social functions are inclusive for Full Registration.

Conference App will be available to download for iOS and Android through the App Stores. The app will contain all the information with regards to the conference and the program. If you have difficulties downloading/navigating the app, please see Leishman Associates staff at the registration desk.
Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker. A photographer will be at the conference, if you have any issues with being photographed, please notify the photographer or Leishman Associates staff.

In the lead-up to the conference, edits will be made to the program. See the latest version of the program on the website and Conference App. Any changes to the conference program during the conference will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning. You may also check with Leishman Associates staff at the registration desk.

The members of the conference organising committee and Leishman Associates accept no liability for personal accident of loss or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Nor do we accept liability for any equipment or software brought to the conference by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party. Please protect your personal property.

Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a conference name badge. Advise Leishman Associates staff if this does not occur.

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is recommended that participants take out their own general travel insurance. It is suggested that the insurance policy should also cover loss of fees/deposit, airfares, accommodation charges, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property and repatriation expenses. The insurance should cover loss arising from the cancellation of the conference by the organisers or a person’s inability to attend due to any reason whatsoever. No responsibility is taken by the conference managers for any person not holding insurance.

Various components of this event are being handled by Leishman Associates, a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO). Leishman Associates may be contacted regarding any matters relating to the event management. Further information about the PCO can be found at the following website: www.leishman-associates.com.au

If you have advised us of any special dietary requirements during the registration process, the caterers at each function have been provided these. A special buffet table will be set during the day for special diets. If you are unsure, please see venue staff.

Free wireless internet access is available for the duration of the Conference.

PLEASE NOTE: The internet is not to be used to view or download any illicit material, including movies, music etc.

A delegate list will be emailed out a week after the conference. Printed delegate lists will not be available at the conference. If you had selected privacy required when completing your registration form, your name will not appear on the list.
We will not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form.

Conference participants violating the Anti-Harassment Policy may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers.

If you experience any bad behaviour and/or you feel uncomfortable or unsafe during the conference, please contact the Conference Organisers.

Speakers, Chairpersons, or Poster Presenters

I am not receiving events emails

Sometimes emails don’t get through firewall settings. To overcome this issue, please whitelist ariana@laevents.com.au and kan@laevents.com.au if you find you are not receiving conference correspondence.

Accommodation

Chairpersons will receive an email prior to the conference, reminding them of their responsibilities. If you are a chairperson and do not receive this, or have additional questions, please contact Theni at Leishman Associates (03 6234 7844).

Please bring your PowerPoint presentation with you when you register. All speakers should present themselves to the Speakers Preparation Room, located in BelleVue Lounge.

Presenters should bring their PowerPoint presentation to the conference on a USB device for uploading with the AV Technicians at least 3 hours prior to your scheduled presentation time. This may mean the day before presenter's presentation.

All presentations need to be 16:9 in ratio.

All poster authors are requested to prepare their posters in an A0 format. Please prepare your poster in PORTRAIT FORMAT. We will be using display boards that will require velcro dots. We will have a limited supply on site.

Posters will be on display at the conference from 13 October 2023 through till 14 October 2023. Presenters need to bring their printed poster in portrait orientation, up to A0 size to the registration desk where they will be directed to their allocated poster board. Presenters need to adhere the poster to the poster board by morning teatime on 13 October 2023 and retrieve their poster after the last session on 14 October 2023. Uncollected posters will be disposed of.

If you have booked your accommodation when you registered, your credit card details have been transferred to the hotel you have selected – please confirm this on check in with your hotel.

The hotel will request payment on check out. If you have arrived 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day, you may find that you have forfeited your deposit.

If you will not be paying with your own credit card, and need to arrange payment before you arrive, the best way is via a credit card authorisation form enabling the hotel to process a third-party card. To do so, please contact the relevant hotel.
As your booking will be made through a third-party channel and not through the organisers, you are required to make any changes to your accommodation direct with the hotel. Hotel policies for your booking will apply, see your confirmation email from the hotel for details.

Cancellation and Disclaimer

Cancellations must be received in writing – mail, email – to Leishman Associates. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from Leishman Associates. If you have not received acknowledgement within two business days, please contact Leishman Associates on (03) 6234 7844.

Participants may not use, reproduce or allow anyone to use or reproduce any trademarks or other trade names appearing at the conference, content, or in any materials distributed at or in connection with the Conference for any reason without the prior written permission from the Host.

No part of the event may be recorded, reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronically or mechanically, including but not limited to video or audio recording, photography, photocopying or any other information storage or retrieval system known now or in the future, without the explicit written permission of the Host.
The 2023 AMMA Conference reserves the right to amend or alter any advertised details relating to dates, program and speakers, if necessary, without notice, as a result of circumstances beyond their control. All attempts have been made to keep any changes to an absolute minimum.
